COVID-19 UPDATE; May 4, 2020
From the Red Cross regarding First Aid certification:
We have received clarification from Alberta Occupational Health and Safety and are pleased to share with you an update on our First Aid certifications.
Training Partners may now enroll participants needing recertification AND participants not currently certified in first aid into either Standard First Aid Blended- Online or Standard First Aid Online Update. They will receive a workplace approved certification for 90 days without attending in-person training. These two courses provide students with the same content and both are valid.
Previously mentioned, anyone expiring from March through June 30, 2020 received a 90-day extension from their date of expiry. This left a gap for individuals who were not currently certified. Now, these individuals can obtain OHS Workplace approved and recognized interim certification without attending in-person for a classroom session.
|User group||Updates on their certification||What should they enroll in|

|Individuals not currently certified||By taking the online blended portion, they will receive an interim OHS Workplace First Aid certification. They must take in-person training once it resumes.||This individual may take either of the online first aid courses to receive a OHS Workplace approved first aid certification. In-person skills training will need to be completed for full certification to be issued.|
