COVID-19 UPDATE; May 4, 2020

We will be reopening for courses effective May 11, 2020.
At this time, we will be offering less courses in our schedule to be able to maintain a safe distance between all persons in our building. We hope this is a short term temporary measure.
We have strict procedures in place to ensure our staff and students remain safe during training. These procedures include:
– no touch infrared temperature screening (anyone above 38 degrees will be asked to reschedule their training session)
– any students that are feeling ill or showing symptoms, are asked to reschedule their training session(s)
– any students who have travelled via airplane are asked to reschedule their courses two weeks after their last flight (this includes domestic flights)
– any staff member that is feeling ill will be asked to stay home
– any staff who have travelled via airplane are asked to self-isolate for 14 days
– all equipment and trucks are sanitized prior to use, and upon completion of individual usage prior to the next student usage
– common areas disinfected at a minimum of five times per day
We value the health and safety of our staff and students and trust that anyone affected by these policies will cooperate as needed and we will follow recommended policies from AHS and CDC as well as any updates from the Government of Alberta.
From Energy Safety Canada regarding H2S Alive certification:
Any Certificate of Completion previously issued by Energy Safety Canada that has an expiry date between January 1, 2020 and September 1, 2020 will be deemed by Energy Safety Canada to have not expired and will remain valid up to and including September 1, 2020.

From the Red Cross regarding First Aid certification:

We have received clarification from Alberta Occupational Health and Safety and are pleased to share with you an update on our First Aid certifications.

Training Partners may now enroll participants needing recertification AND participants not currently certified in first aid into either Standard First Aid Blended- Online or Standard First Aid Online Update. They will receive a workplace approved certification for 90 days without attending in-person training. These two courses provide students with the same content and both are valid.

Previously mentioned, anyone expiring from March through June 30, 2020 received a 90-day extension from their date of expiry. This left a gap for individuals who were not currently certified. Now, these individuals can obtain OHS Workplace approved and recognized interim certification without attending in-person for a classroom session.

User group Updates on their certification What should they enroll in
Individuals with current first aid certifications expiring between March and June 30, 2020 This individual had their certification extended 90 days past their expiry date. No updated certification was issued. Individuals may take either of the online courses  to refresh their theoretical knowledge and prepare them for a blended recertification once in-person training resumes.
Individuals not currently certified By taking the online blended portion, they will receive an interim OHS Workplace First Aid certification. They must take in-person training once it resumes. This individual may take either of the online first aid courses to receive a OHS Workplace approved first aid certification. In-person skills training will need to be completed for full certification to be issued.
Individuals with current first aid certification expiring on or after July 1, 2020 No updates to this individual’s certification has been announced. Individuals may take either online course to refresh their theoretical knowledge
Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions, we will keep you informed of any changes.
Thank you very much for your continued support and business.
Best Regards,
