This 1 day course is based on Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Legislation for Confined Space Entry & Rescue.
***Please note this course is not Energy Safety Canada Confined Space Entry and Monitor.
The morning is theory based classroom instruction covering the following topics:
- Types of Confined Spaces
- Hazard Assessment
- Hazards of Confined Spaces
- Responsibilities
- Confined Space Entry Permits
- Safety and Protection
- Monitoring the Atmosphere
- Inerting
- Confined Space Equipment
- Emergency Response Plan (E.R.P)
- Rescue Procedures
The practical portion of the course takes place in the afternoon. Students must complete a variety of exercises and rescue scenarios. Upon successful completion students are issued a certificate of training valid for 3 years.
Note: Students who are late may be refused admission. Coveralls, hardhat, gloves and steel-toed boots are required for the practical portion of this course. The practical exam takes place outdoors, please dress appropriately for the weather.
